There is enough room to also include a set of small pipes and many supplies. The inside of the case is fully padded, both sides, all around the edges, and all around the posts. The hard shell and padding protect your pipes. The full size grip is easy on the hands, and you can add a shoulder strap and a lock to the case.The empty case weighs about 10 pounds, and the case is large, so shipping is very expensive. The Completely Cushioned Full-Length Bagpipe Case is an ingenious repurposing of a case, adapting it for the specific use for bagpipes. It was painstakingly created by Brad Beaton of Atlanta Kilts. It is very well made and thoughtfully cushioned to protect the pipes during travel and storage as well as providing enough room to carry additional needed items, as necessary. The case permits the piper to not disassemble the pipes between uses thereby decreasing the time required for repeated tuning as well as wear and tear on slides and pipe parts during disassembly and re-assembly. It is perfect for use between home and practice or gigs. I have other great cases, but this one is outstanding and my new go-to. I have unequivocally endorsed this product to my bandmates and any piper who will listen. As an aside, soon after purchasing the case, I received a phone call from its creator, the owner of Atlanta Kilts. Brad was extremely interested in my thoughts about the case and its usage. We chatted about my thoughts of its significant benefits for a piper and why I endorsed it to others.
